Literacy Events @ Your ARES Library Media Center!

At Alston Ridge Elementary School, we pride ourselves on the intrinsic literacy interests of our students and strive to develop a love of reading, for reading's sake, in every child. Dr. Berggren, our Media Coordinator, is passionate about studies that link reading and the abilities to collaborate; empathize; communicate; develop morals; learn new skills; create; problem-solve; predict outcomes, and so on.
Thus, the vision for the media program is as follows: “The Alston Ridge Media Center provides a safe and welcoming environment where students can explore and discover, seeking individual learning opportunities via access to a wide array of print and electronic resources.”
Please keep scrolling to see the various school, district, and state-wide literacy programs our media team has hosted in collaboration with our PTSA, local business partners, and guest presenters.
